Author guidelines
Review these guidelines before you submit. Requirements can vary by journal and article type, so always verify the guidance for the journal you have selected.

Before you begin
- Confirm that your manuscript falls within the scope of the journal you have selected.
- Check the article type you intend to submit — manuscript requirements can vary by article type.
- Make sure every contributing author has approved the submission.
Manuscript file
- Submit the main manuscript as a DOC, DOCX or PDF file.
- Include the title, abstract and keywords in the manuscript as well as in the submission form.
- Keep the abstract concise and aligned with the selected article type.
Figures, tables and supporting files
- Supply figures and tables as a separate file where the journal requires it.
- Use clear, legible image files; each file is checked for format and size before it is accepted.
- A cover letter can be uploaded where the journal asks for one.
Authorship
- List every contributing author in the order in which they should appear.
- Identify the corresponding author, who will receive editorial correspondence.
- Provide an institutional email address for each author where possible.
Declarations
- Confirm that the manuscript is original work.
- Confirm that all contributing authors have approved the submission.
- Agree to the applicable publication and copyright requirements.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest relevant to the manuscript.
